Hotels, restaurants and bars should follow guidelines or face stern action

Pune restaurants, bars and hotels were allowed to reopen with fifty percent capacity from October 5. A strict guideline and standard operating procedures have been laid for the establishments to follow and failing to follow these the restaurants, hotels and bars would be strictly fined, informed Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao informed on Tuesday October 6,2020. 

An order was issued by the Maharashtra government Revenue department and forest department order no. DMAU / 2020/ C RA 2 / DISM -1, 30/9/2020 wherein tourism and cultural department has set up SOP which are to be strictly adhered to and failing to follow these guidelines establishments will face strict action. First time offence will attract a fine of Rs 10,000, second time offence Rs 15000 and third time offence Rs 25000 while fourth time will have the licenses revoked. The establishments should ensure that Covid19 should not spread. 

State Excise Department can set up a flying squad to check the operations of the establishments and can take action under the Mumbai Foreign liquor Act 1953 and can take action against these establishments and can fine them for first offence as Rs 10,000 second offence as Rs 15000 third offence as Rs 50,000 and fourth offence the bar license can be cancelled. 
Rao further added that in Municipal corporation limit, local police, state Excise, PMC officials, representatives of hotel establishments can set up flying squads and take action against those failing to follow these rules.
