The area surrounding Dorabjee’s Paradise and Lavanya Restaurant faces a hazardous situation due to a high voltage line crossing over the bridge. Despite the closure of the road due to safety concerns, heavy vehicles, including RMC trucks, water tankers and dumpers, continue to use the route.

Safety measures, such as the installation of height barriers on the bridge, were implemented to prevent accidents caused by the flying of heavy vehicles. However, the persistent disregard for road closure warnings poses a significant risk to public safety.

Authorities have emphasised the necessity of adhering to safety protocols and have urged drivers to avoid the high-risk area. Concerns over potential accidents and electrocution remain paramount, prompting calls for stricter enforcement of road closure regulations. Efforts are underway to address the issue and prevent further incidents, highlighting the importance of prioritising public safety in the vicinity of high voltage lines.

When Pune Pulse spoke to a senior official in MSEDCL he assured that a site inspection will be carried out soon. PMC has blocked the road for vehicles by putting up debris.Â
