On 22nd October (Sunday), Pune Metro took strict action by removing the illegal banners, flex, etc put on the pillars of PCMC to Civil Court Metro Station & Vanaz to Ruby Hall Metro Station.

Shravan Hardikar, Managing Director, Maha Metro, said “In case of putting up an unauthorized board, action will be taken as per Metro Act and a case will be registered against the concerned in the local police.”

As per further information from the X handle of Pune Metro, the route of Pune Metro from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation to Civil Court and Vanaz to Ruby Hall Clinic is operational. Unauthorized boards were noticed on the pillars of Pune Metro’s elevated route. Action was also taken on it from time to time. On 22/10/2023, unauthorized billboards were removed from Garware College to Vanaz route by Pune Metro.

According to Section 72, 73 and 78 of the Pune Metro Act 2002, Metro is a public property and if it is defaced, there is a provision of Rs 500 fine and imprisonment from 6 months to 10 years.

Shravan Hardikar has appealed to everyone that, as the Metro is a public property, citizens should not deface it under any circumstances and help keep the Metro pillars, stations and metro station area clean.
