Pune: Missing 10-Year-Old Girl Found Safe in Alandi After 6-Hour Search Operation
In a dramatic turn of events, Pune Police successfully traced a missing 10-year-old girl to Alandi after a six-hour search operation. The girl, a Class IX student went missing after school on Friday from Bharti Vidyapeeth area, sparking a massive search effort .
Without any mobile phone trail, over 20 teams of crime branch and police station personnel worked tirelessly to track down the missing girl. Armed with CCTV footage and human intelligence, they scoured every nook and cranny to ensure her safe return.
The search operation, led by Additional Commissioner of Police Pravinkumar Patil and two Deputy Commissioners of Police, lasted over six hours with 50 officers working in tandem. The police started their probe from the school, where CCTV footage showed the girl roaming around the area till 4 p.m.
The investigation revealed that the girl had met a neighbor, informing them that she was removed from her house by her mother. The neighbor advised her to go home, but she left the area instead. The police also found footage of the girl with a man, although his face was not visible due to the camera angle.
The girl’s photograph was circulated among autorickshaw drivers and other sources, leading to several sightings. She was spotted taking money from people, buying biscuits and chocolates, and even having juice at a stall.
The breakthrough came when the girl’s father, who was part of the search team, mentioned that he frequently visited Alandi with his family. The police headed to Alandi around 11:30 pm. and, after checking all ashrams and temples, found the girl at 1:30 am at the ghat area of the Indrayani River.
The search operation was monitored by Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar and Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma. The successful rescue effort is a testament to the Pune Police’s dedication and perseverance.
