Pune–Mumbai Expressway, Old Highway Closed Until Further Notice After Landslide
Pune, July 6, 2026: Traffic on both the Pune–Mumbai Expressway and the old Mumbai–Pune Highway has been severely disrupted following a landslide and continuous heavy rainfall.
Authorities have suspended traffic movement in both directions—Pune to Mumbai and Mumbai to Pune—until further notice as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety.
Citizens have been urged not to undertake any journey between Pune and Mumbai until official clearance is issued. Those who had planned to travel are advised to postpone their trips and stay updated through traffic advisories and announcements issued by the concerned government agencies.
Officials have appealed to the public to cooperate with the restrictions in the interest of safety and to avoid unnecessary travel until the situation improves.
