Pune Municipal Corporation Launches ‘Rangyatra’ App For Online Booking Of Cultural Centers
Pune, March 12, 2025 – As part of the Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the civic body unveiled the ‘Rangyatra’ mobile application on its 75th anniversary. This new digital initiative will facilitate online booking for all cultural centers managed by PMC’s Cultural Centers Department.
From Manual to Digital: A Technological Leap
Currently, administrative work related to cultural centers, such as quarterly bookings for auditoriums, rent payments via cash or demand draft, and issuing receipts, is conducted manually. The ‘Rangyatra’ app aims to digitize and streamline these processes, bringing greater efficiency and transparency.
With this new system, event organizers, including theater groups, Lavani performers, cultural event coordinators, political and educational institutions, and religious organizations across Maharashtra, can now access real-time information on all 15 municipal auditoriums. Details such as seating capacity, facilities, availability, and location can be checked with just a click. Users can also submit booking applications and make payments online from the comfort of their homes.
Booking Process and Key Dates
PMC has announced that applications for auditorium bookings for events scheduled between May 1, 2025, and August 31, 2025, must be submitted through the ‘Rangyatra’ app between March 15, 2025, and March 25, 2025. Successful applicants will be notified via their registered mobile numbers and email IDs by April 10, 2025.
User Support and Accessibility
To assist users, a tutorial video is embedded in the app. Additionally, helpdesks have been set up at Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir, Shri Ganesh Kala Krida Manch (Swargate), and Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe Smarak (Bibwewadi), where Cultural Centers Department officials will provide guidance. Users facing technical issues can also contact software engineer Prasad Nikumbh at +91 9975172266.
The ‘Rangyatra’ app is available for download on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store, with a built-in QR code scanner for easy access.
This initiative marks a significant step toward digitization and aims to enhance transparency and accessibility in cultural event management across Pune.
