Pune : NCC Cadets of Maharashtra win prestigious PM’s banner for third time in a row 

In the month-long competitions that were hosted in conjunction with the Republic Day celebrations at New Delhi, the NCC directorate of Maharashtra emerged the overall champion directorate and was awarded the prestigious Prime Minister’s banner. This is the third time in a row that Maharashtra has bagged the banner. 

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) contingent of Maharashtra which included 122 Cadets returned to Pune on Saturday after participating in the Republic Day Parade 2024 held in New Delhi. 

The winning contingent was received at the NCC Group HQ by Brigadier Arjun Mitra.

Teams from all 28 States competed in events including Drill, Cultural, Guard of Honor, Flag Area, Aeromodelling, Ship Modelling, PM rally, Best Cadet Competition, Equestrian and many more events. After dedicated year around training and lots of determination the Cadets performed exceedingly well and ensured the first position for Maharashtra. 

23 Girl Cadets from Maharashtra marched on Kartavya Path along with the Armed Forces Contingent during the Republic Day Parade. Along with winning the Prime Minister’s banner and trophies, Cadets won individual awards.

Cadet Shrusti More- Silver medal and second-Best Cadet naval wing

Cadet Preetilatha Sahoo- Silver Medal and second-Best Cadet Air wing

Cadet Tejas Kamble- Bronze medal Army Wing

Cadet Shravya Pallachikal- Bronze Medal army wing

Cadet Nachiket Meshram- DG Commendation Card

Cadet Preetilatha Sahoo- DG Commendation Card

Cadet Pranita More- DG Medallion

ANO Yashodini Kulkarni- DG Medallion

GCI Reeitha Khadangale- DG Medallion

Mr Suresh Jadhav- DG Medallion

Cadet Mandeep Singh- Best in Tent pegging- Gold

 Besides the events held at Delhi, marks are also awarded for performances in the Thal Sanik. Vayu Sainik and Nao Sainik Camps. Performance in Flying and number of Cadets joining the Armed Forces in the calendar year.
