Residents of Bavdhan, particularly those residing near NDA Pashan road, are grappling with daily traffic nuisances in various nearby areas like Shindenagar due to the lack of traffic dividers. The absence of these dividers has led to long traffic jams and numerous accidents, causing distress and frustration among the local community.

Rajan Anthony, a resident of Shindenagar, expressed concerns about the persisting problem, stating that the absence of traffic dividers at various spots along NDA Pashan road has exacerbated traffic issues, resulting in frequent long jams and other inconveniences. Despite the evident problem, it appears that little attention has been paid to address the issue.

Santosh Shetty, a restaurant owner, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the difficulties faced by their vehicles while commuting daily on NDA Pashan road. The lack of traffic dividers has contributed to traffic nuisances that directly impact their business operations.

Hariram Joshi, a security guard at a building in Shindenagar, has witnessed several accidents caused by the absence of traffic dividers or damaged ones. Unfortunately, the authorities seem unresponsive and have not taken any action to rectify the situation.

C S Krishnan, a member of the Bavdhan Citizens Forum and a resident of the area, took it upon himself to address the issue by placing 13 plastic drums on the road after a significant accident occurred on February 25, 2021. This temporary measure seemed to work as traffic was better regulated, and accidents were minimized. However, to their dismay, the drums were later shifted, and the problem resurfaced, with at least 15 accidents occurring at the same spot in the past two months. The urgency for installing proper dividers is evident.

In response to the mounting concerns, Sachin Kadam, Assistant Police Inspector of the Bavdhan Traffic Department, has assured that the issue has been acknowledged, and they are working to devise a solution to implement the much-needed traffic dividers.

The plea for traffic dividers in Bavdhan is becoming increasingly urgent, as the safety of residents and commuters is at stake. Authorities must take swift action to address this critical concern and alleviate the daily traffic nuisance affecting the area.
