Pune News: CM Shinde Schedules Meeting To Approve PMRDA Budget
Pune, August 24, 2024 : After a five-month delay, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has finally scheduled a meeting to approve the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) budget. The meeting, set for Sunday in Mumbai, will also be attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar. The budget, pending approval, includes a proposal to reduce fees for regularising houses under the Gunthewari Act. The new rates, which have yet to be approved by the authority’s committee, are expected to provide relief to PMRDA residents.
The meeting, which was originally scheduled for July 24, had been postponed multiple times due to the Chief Minister’s busy schedule. This delay had also stalled the finalisation of the revised Gunthewari rates. However, with the upcoming meeting, these rates are expected to be finalised.
Last year’s PMRDA budget was approximately ₹1,926 crore. Among the pending town planning schemes awaiting approval are Maan-Mahalunge (250.50 hectares), Manjari-Kolavadi (233.35 hectares), Autade-Handewadi (94.74 hectares), Wadachiwadi (134.79 hectares), and Holkarwadi phases 4 and 5, covering 158.19 hectares and 130.78 hectares, respectively.
