Pune, July 28, 2024: Due to recent heavy rainfall and rising water levels in the catchment area, the Khadakwasla Dam is scheduled to release 13,981 cusecs of water from its spillway into the Mutha River basin at midnight tonight. This precautionary measure is intended to manage the dam’s capacity and ensure safety in the surrounding areas.

The Khadakwasla Irrigation Department has issued a notice indicating that the discharge rate may be adjusted based on real-time rainfall data and water inflow conditions. Residents and stakeholders are advised to stay informed about any changes to the discharge rate.

The Sub Divisional Engineer of the Mutha Canal Irrigation Sub Division emphasized the need for safety during this time. Residents are urged to avoid the riverbed and relocate any belongings, materials, or animals in the area to minimize potential risks and damage. Those residing in low-lying regions should be alerted and take appropriate precautions.
