Pune News : Landslide Causes Traffic Disruption at Malshej Ghat on Pune-Thane Highway

The scenic Malshej Ghat, situated on the border of Pune, Thane, and Nagar districts, has been causing significant traffic congestion on the Nagar-Kalyan highway, which connects Pune and Thane. Recently, a tempo driver abandoned their vehicle on the road and fled, resulting in disruptions and the implementation of one-way traffic measures.

The Malshej Ghat area has experienced heavy rainfall for the past five to six days, leading to the formation of cracks in the road, both large and small, which are prone to collapsing. As is customary every year, the authorities have made necessary arrangements to ensure smooth traffic flow through Malshej Ghat.

Motorists are urged not to park their vehicles unnecessarily while traversing Malshej Ghat. Additionally, the administration advises drivers to maintain a single-file formation, with headlights on during foggy conditions, to enhance visibility and safety on the road.
