Pune News : Person Who Rented Car from Zoomcar and Fled Arrested by Vimantal Police

Pune: The Vimantal Police has nabbed a person who tried to run away with a Mahindra Thar car which he had rented from a popular rental car application, Zoomcar.
As per information, the victim and owner of the car Vaijnath Karbhari Kharmate gave his Mahindra Thar 4×4 car worth Rs 18,00, 000 on June 13 to the accused identified as Shailesh Kumar Hingu through Zoom Car. The accused took the vehicle to travel to Surat, Gujarat. However, allegedly he fled away with the car.
Hence, the Vimantal Police Station registered a case under Section 406 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The officer in charge of the investigation team, Assistant Police Inspector Vijay Chandan, did a technical analysis of the mobile number of the accused who belongs to Surat, Gujarat. During the analysis, it was found that the accused was travelling from Maharashtra to Gujarat. He was caught with the help of Palghar Police. The Mahindra Thar car has been seized from the accused.
The accused Shailesh Kumar Hingu has been registered under Alcohol Prohibition Section 65 (D) at Gaondevi Police Station and Navsari Police Station, Gujarat. Further investigation is being conducted by the Vimantal Police Station, Pune.
