A minor fire incident was reported at the venue of the Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav in Pune on Sunday afternoon, causing no casualties or significant damage. The fire occurred around 4:15 pm at the Maharashtriya Mandal Krida Sankul in Mukund Nagar, where the prestigious music festival is currently taking place.

Devendra Potphode, Pune City Fire Brigade chief, explained that the minor fire was a result of a short circuit. He reassured that a fire tender is stationed at the venue 24/7 as a precautionary measure, and the situation was promptly brought under control.

Shrinivas Joshi, executive president of the Arya Sangeet Prasad Mandal, the organizing body of the festival, provided details on the incident. He mentioned that a wire broke and fell on the curtain at the rear end of the pandal, leading to a small fire. Thanks to the presence of all necessary safety measures and the quick response of fire brigade personnel, trained security staff, and volunteers, the situation was swiftly brought under control, restoring normalcy within minutes after the incident occurred.
