Pune, June 29, 2025: Over 23,000 IT employees working in Hinjawadi IT Park have signed an online petition titled #UNCLOGHinjawadiITPark within just seven days of its launch. The petition, hosted on Change.org, highlights the serious traffic and infrastructure problems faced daily by people working in Phases 1, 2, and 3 of the IT hub. The petition was launched by Sachin Londhe, founder of Wakad – Pimpri Chinchwad Residents Dev And Welfare Association.
On Saturday, a group of IT professionals met with MLA Mahesh Landge, who represents the Bhosari constituency under PCMC, to submit a hard copy of the petition and discuss the concerns in detail. The meeting aimed to bring attention to the day-to-day struggles of employees, especially since 90% of them reside in either PCMC or PMC areas.
MLA Landge listened patiently to all issues raised by the employee representatives. They presented photos and videos showing severe waterlogging in June, slushy and muddy roads, and unmanageable traffic congestion during peak hours. The group also highlighted the inability to walk to offices due to damaged footpaths and roads.
Here are the key points from the meeting:
- MLA Landge assured the group of short-term solutions within 30–60 days, especially to ease traffic and fix basic road issues.
- He promised to raise the concerns during the Monsoon Session of the State Assembly starting June 30 in Mumbai.
- Long-term suggestions, like the merger of Hinjawadi IT Park under PCMC jurisdiction, were also discussed, and Landge assured his support.
- Employees urged the creation of a dedicated IT & Software Park Ministry, which could focus on issues and expansions of IT hubs across the state.
- The petition also included suggestions from employees for better planning and coordination with companies operating in the park.
The petition’s lead campaigner, Sachin Londhe, thanked MLA Landge for his time and support. The group is hopeful that the MLA’s intervention will lead to early action on key concerns, especially before the upcoming monsoon intensifies the situation further.
