Pimpri, July 1, 2025:

Firefighters from the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) rescued a cow that had fallen into a 40-foot-deep pit at a construction site near a school in Ravet Gaothan, close to the BRT route. The heroic operation gave a new lease of life to the mute animal. The rescue was carried out by teams from the Pimpri, Thergaon, and Pradhikaran fire stations.

As soon as information was received about the cow having fallen into the pit, rescue teams from all three fire stations were rushed to the spot. Upon inspection, they found that the pit was approximately 50×50 feet wide and 35 to 40 feet deep, and due to heavy rains, the entire area was muddy and slippery.

Because of the unsafe and slippery terrain, it was not possible to bring a crane close to the pit. However, the team skillfully used the boom of the crane along with hoses and ropes to tie two belts around the cow. After nearly 30 minutes of dedicated effort, the cow was safely lifted out of the pit.
