Pimpri, July 1: In a move to resolve civic issues and ease traffic congestion in the Hinjawadi, Maan, and Marunji areas, PMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase, along with senior administrative officials, conducted a thorough inspection on Tuesday. The team reviewed whether previous instructions regarding restoration of the natural flow of streams and drains had been followed.
During earlier inspections, it was found that the natural flow of water had been obstructed or diverted at 13 locations in Hinjawadi Phases 1, 2, and 3, including areas along the Metro route.
Consequently, PMRDA and MIDC had issued notices directing concerned parties to restore the flow by June 30. Tuesday’s inspection was conducted to verify compliance with these directives. Officials warned that strict action would be taken against those who failed to comply.
Additionally, work on the final 300-meter stretch of the Marunji-Wipro Circle Road is set to begin tomorrow and will be completed within 15 to 20 days. Since this road connects to Laxmi Chowk, it is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in the Hinjawadi area.
The inspection also covered various parts of the Metro project currently under construction. Present at the inspection were PMRDA Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase, Additional Commissioner Deepak Singla, Chief Engineer Rinaz Pathan, Director of Town Planning Sunil Marale, and other administrative officials.
