In a symbolic and public display of enforcement, the police organized a silencer destruction drive on April 11, 2025. The event was held at the Police Headquarters ground and witnessed the crushing of 542 illegally modified silencers under a road roller. The operation was conducted in the presence of Police Inspector Vishwajeet Khule from the Nigdi Traffic Division.
Police officials stated that these modified silencers not only violate traffic laws but also contribute significantly to urban noise pollution, disturbing residents and posing health risks. The enforcement drive aims to send a clear message to all motorists that violations will not be tolerated.
Authorities further emphasized that regular checks and strict action will continue across the city to curb such activities. Citizens have also been urged to report vehicles causing public disturbance through loud exhausts or unauthorized modifications.
The Pimpri Chinchwad Police reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace, order, and a noise-free environment through consistent and visible enforcement.
