.
As per further information shared by Ajit Deshmukh, Head, PMC Tax Department, only 2 branches of Rosary school offices are sealed. There is no disturbance in the education of students such as attending classes, learning etc. Classrooms are also not sealed.
Apart from running the initiative offering 40 percent rebate which was stalled, the civic body has also been quick and stern in taking action against properties not paying taxes on time.
These taxpayers have not paid the property taxes, even after multiple warnings. The administration has allowed them time until December 20 to pay the outstanding balance. If the tax isnt paid, the auctioning of properties will be continued by the civic body.
For 2023–2024, the PMC has set a target of collecting Rs 2,318.15 crore in property taxes. In addition, as part of the property tax, the civic administration anticipates receiving almost Rs 300 crore from the water tax gathered from residential properties, bringing the total anticipated revenue from property tax to Rs 2,618.15 crore.
