Pune News: Westford Co-op Society Launches 65 kW Solar Project In Pimple Saudagar, Eyes ₹15 Lakh Annual Savings
Pune: The Westford Co-operative Housing Society in Pimple Saudagar has taken a major step toward sustainability by installing a 65 KW solar power system. The project, expected to save approximately ₹15 lakh annually, was inaugurated on the auspicious occasions of Gudi Padwa and Cheti Chand.
The society, located at Survey No. 163 1/2, Shivsai Lane, near Lotus Hospital, was officially handed over by the builder on March 31, 2024. After taking charge on April 1, 2024, the management committee prioritized solar energy to reduce electricity costs and promote green living.
Following unanimous approval from residents, the society partnered with M/s Solar Square Energy Pvt. Ltd. to implement the project. The system features Premier high-quality solar panels and a SolarEdge inverter with optimizers for enhanced efficiency. The entire setup was completed within six months in a single phase and is now fully operational.
Residents have lauded the initiative, recognizing it as a step toward a more energy-efficient and eco-friendly future. With this solar project, Westford Co-op Housing Society sets an example for other residential communities to adopt renewable energy solutions.
