Over 2500 residents on Hinjawadi Marunji Road are dealing with several problems including garbage disposal, bad road conditions, no streetlights, lack of drinking water, and frequent power outages. In the last 48 hours, residents of Park Connect were left without power.

The area is under the Marunji Gram Panchayat, and residents have little hope for immediate help. They are reaching out to district authorities and Member of Parliament Supriya Sule, as the area is part of the Baramati constituency.

Heavy rains on July 24 and 25 worsened the road conditions. The only access road to the society was flooded with knee-deep water and garbage. Residents are questioning the use of the Rs 5000 property tax collected from each flat owner.

Tushar Khaire, a resident, told Pune Pulse that they contacted the Pirangut division of MSEDCL five times in the past year to fix the power issues. They also sent a letter to MP Supriya Sule asking for help.

He mentioned that the lack of streetlights has led to severe accidents, making it dangerous for residents.

When Pune Pulse spoke to Marunji sarpanch, Kaveri Buchade she informed that the potholes on the link road will be repaired by the Gram Panchayat soon. Though this road lies under the State Highway and Public Works Department, the Gram Panchayat will initiate the work for the local residents. Regarding the other complaints, we have been speaking to the state government for providing basic facilities in the area.
