Pune: PCMC Ready For 2025–26 Civic Polls; Authorities Appeal For High Voter Turnout
Pimpri-Chinchwad, January 14, 2026: With voting for the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) General Elections 2025–26 scheduled on Thursday, January 15, 2026, the civic administration has declared that all arrangements are in place to ensure a free, fearless, and transparent electoral process. Municipal Commissioner and Election Officer Shravan Hardikar appealed to citizens to enthusiastically exercise their constitutional right to vote and encourage others to do the same.
The total number of voters in the municipal limits stands at 17,13,891, comprising 9,05,728 male, 8,07,966 female, and 197 third-gender voters. The final ward-wise voter list was published on December 15, 2025. Ward No. 16 has the highest voter count at 75,105, while Ward No. 23 has the lowest at 33,033. For voter convenience, 2,067 polling stations have been set up.

Among these, several are temporary polling stations, distributed ward-wise as follows:
- Office No. 1: 52
- Office No. 2: 54
- Office No. 3: 3
- Office No. 4: 108 (highest)
- Office No. 5: 27
- Office No. 6: 22
- Office No. 7: 23
- Office No. 8: 33
In total, 322 temporary polling stations have been arranged across the municipal area.
Facilities at Polling Stations
Each polling station has been assigned a doctor for medical support and will provide drinking water, wheelchair access, waiting rooms, first-aid kits, and other essential facilities. Officials and staff have been instructed to strictly follow the State Election Commission’s guidelines.
Police Deployment and Law & Order
The police force is fully prepared to maintain law and order and ensure a peaceful voting atmosphere. Adequate police personnel will be deployed at every polling station, and additional teams will conduct patrolling and monitoring. Special arrangements have been made at sensitive points to maintain discipline and prevent disturbances.
Control Room & Webcasting
As per directives from the State Election Commission, all polling stations will be connected via webcasting for monitoring on voting day. A dedicated control room has been set up for real-time coordination and supervision, and coordination officers have been appointed.
Ban on Mobile Phones Inside Polling Booths
Voter slips containing essential information such as polling station and voter number have been distributed door-to-door with the help of Booth Level Officers. Voters have been informed that mobile phones are not allowed inside polling booths. Volunteers have been deployed at each polling station, and Anganwadi and Asha workers will assist in keeping voters’ mobile phones outside.
Counting on January 16
Vote counting will begin at designated locations from 10:00 AM on Friday, January 16, 2026. Separate tables will be arranged for EVM counting and postal ballots. Results will be announced phase-wise, and media cells will be set up at each Election Officer office for communication.
Inspection by Election Officials
Commissioner and Election Officer Shravan Hardikar inspected the polling material distribution centers set up under eight Election Officer offices. He reviewed the distribution process to ensure timely, orderly, and disruption-free arrangements.
During the inspection, Deputy District Collectors and Election Officers Supriya Dange, Archana Tambe, Dr. Deepti Suryawanshi, Archana Pathare, Himmat Kharade, Anil Pawar, Nitin Gawali, and Pallavi Ghatge, along with PCMC’s Deputy Commissioners Sachin Pawar and Anna Bodade, Assistant Commissioner Kirankumar More, and various department heads were present.
