Amid the Lok Sabha election fervour, political leaders are rallying across Maharashtra, gearing up for the upcoming phases of voting. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to boost the campaign for Maha Alliance candidates in four key constituencies: Baramati, Shirur, Maval, and Pune city.

Scheduled for April 29, the campaign meeting, sanctioned by Prime Minister Modi, is a joint effort involving the Shiv Sena, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and other parties aligned with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

As election season sweeps across the state, political parties are hosting road shows and public gatherings featuring prominent leaders. Notably, attention is focused on the Baramati and Shirur constituencies, where Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s wife, Sunetra Pawar, is contesting against MP Supriya Sule, and Shivajirao Adharao Patil is challenging MP Amol Kolhe, respectively.

The stakes are high, particularly in Baramati, considered a stronghold of the Pawar family. Despite efforts by the BJP to rally support, the contest remains formidable. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s visit to Baramati underscores the BJP’s strategic manoeuvring in the region.

Reflecting on past elections, where Modi’s presence was anticipated but didn’t materialize, the upcoming campaign meeting holds significance. Although initially planned for Khadakwasla, logistical constraints dictate its relocation to the SP College grounds.

With the battle lines drawn, the BJP aims to challenge traditional strongholds, setting the stage for a fiercely contested Lok Sabha election in Maharashtra.
