Pune: PMC Conducts Midnight Inspections, Fines Shops For Dumping Waste In Public Areas
Pune, October 30, 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has launched intensified night-time cleanliness drives to curb littering by commercial establishments across the city. The initiative follows directives issued by the Pune Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishor Ram and the Additional Commissioner (E).
Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner (Solid Waste Management) Sandeep Kadam, regional offices have been carrying out daily night-shift cleaning operations to ensure that business owners keep the areas outside their establishments clean.
Strict action is also being taken against those found dumping waste irresponsibly. Several establishments along Airport Road, Viman Nagar, and Bhawani Peth have faced penalties for violating cleanliness norms.
Deputy Commissioner Kadam personally inspects these late-night operations, which continue past midnight.
Surprise checks have been conducted at various city areas by the sanitation and health department officials.
The inspections, often conducted around 1 a.m., aim to monitor the ongoing clean-up work and reinforce PMC’s commitment to maintaining urban hygiene and public health standards.
