A significant public meeting has been arranged by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) today i.e. January 19 (Friday) at 12:30 pm at the PMC Aundh-Baner Ward Office. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss and hear the concerns of citizens regarding the planned road widening project that would involve cutting down trees on Baner Road.

As per further information from PMC, the civic body is urging people to attend the meeting in large numbers, stressing the value of public involvement.

The Pune Municipal Corporation’s Tree Authority Department has called the public meeting for a discussion on the concerns expressed by citizens about the complete removal or replacement of trees, as stated in the public notice released on January 3, 2024.

Hence, citizens who have filed objections are being urged by PMC to attend the meeting and provide appropriate justifications and factual evidence about tree cutting incidents. Citizens can voice their concerns during the meeting, ensuring that their viewpoints are heard and taken into account when making decisions.

It is recommended that citizens, who have expressed objections to the removal or replanting of trees, must provide substantial reasoning during the meeting. PMC stresses that objections which are not properly justified would be turned down.
