Pune: PMC Orders Urgent Evacuation To Residents Of Padmavati Nagar After Wall Collapse In Dhankwadi
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Tuesday evening issued an emergency evacuation notice to residents of C Wing in Padmavatinagar Housing Society, located near Teen Hatti Chowk in Dhankwadi, following the collapse of a section of the compound wall due to heavy rainfall.
The incident raised immediate safety concerns as cracks were also spotted in the society’s parking area. Alerted by residents late in the evening, PMC officials, along with engineers, promptly arrived on-site to inspect the damage and assess the risk.
After the inspection, PMC’s city engineering department determined that the situation posed a significant threat and issued a formal notice advising all C Wing residents to vacate the building immediately as a precautionary measure.
The notice also warned that failure to comply would lead to forced evacuation with the help of police to ensure public safety.
PMC has appealed to residents to prioritise their safety and relocate from the premises without delay.
