The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) carried out a major demolition drive against unauthorised constructions on Tuesday (February 10), taking strict action in Sectors 9 and 11 and in Bhor taluka. The drive targeted illegal tin sheds, garages, labour camps and unauthorised hoardings, resulting in the demolition of nearly 4,000 square feet of illegal construction and the clearance of around 2.5 acres of government land reserved for public use.

In Sector 9, PMRDA teams demolished an illegal tin shed, while in Sector 11, action was taken against garages and a labour camp located along a 45-metre-wide road. These structures had been illegally constructed on land reserved for vehicle parking. As part of the operation, approximately 2.5 acres of parking land was reclaimed. Authorities have also issued notices to other stall owners and parking operators in the area, directing them to vacate the land immediately.

Simultaneously, PMRDA conducted action in Shindewadi village in Bhor taluka, where illegal hoardings were removed. The drive included the demolition of two hoardings belonging to Shri Pansare (Gat No. 60) and unauthorised hoardings belonging to Shri Shinde (Gat No. 62, Sanskruti Advertising). The removal of other illegal hoardings in the area is currently underway.
