Pimpri, July 18, 2025: In a bid to resolve the severe traffic congestion in Hinjawadi and surrounding areas, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has initiated plans for road widening by acquiring land from local farmers.

On Wednesday, PMRDA officials held a crucial meeting with farmers and stakeholders to discuss the land acquisition process for widening six key roads in the region. These infrastructure upgrades are expected to provide much-needed relief to commuters and accelerate the area’s overall development.

PMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase assured the farmers that their concerns would be addressed and the land acquisition would be carried out through mutual coordination and dialogue. He also underlined the authority’s commitment to addressing the challenges of traffic congestion with long-term solutions.

Additional Metropolitan Commissioner Deepak Singla, Chief Engineer Rinaz Pathan, Superintendent Engineer Shivprasad Bagdi, and Planning Department Officer Shrikant Prabhune were among the officials present at the meeting.
