Pune Police Crack Down On Vehicle Theft: Stolen Goods Worth ₹4.57 Lakh Recovered, 1 Arrested
Pune, June 24: In a swift and coordinated crackdown, Kalepadal Police Station of Pune City Police arrested Ismail Mohammed Naim Salmani, a resident of Sayyednagar, Hadapsar, for his involvement in multiple vehicle theft cases. The arrest led to the recovery of five two-wheelers and one auto-rickshaw, collectively valued at ₹4.57 lakh.
Recovered Stolen Vehicles:
- White Platina Motorcycle – ₹40,000
- Black Honda Shine Motorcycle – ₹90,000
- Red Hero Electric Scooter – ₹50,000
- Black Honda Activa Scooter – ₹45,000
- Black Honda Activa Scooter – ₹60,000
- Silver TVS Rickshaw – ₹72,000
All thefts were registered under Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code, and the accused has been remanded to judicial custody.
The anti-theft operation was conducted under the leadership of Senior Police Inspector Mansingh Patil, with strategic supervision from Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr. Rajkumar Shinde, Zone 5. Officers Dharmendra Rojekar, Amarsinh Raut, Ambar Kakde, Satyajeet Jadhav, Shahid Shaikh, and others from the crime detection team played key roles in cracking the case.
The Pune Police have reaffirmed their commitment to curbing vehicle theft and ensuring the safety of public property.
