In an effort to maintain order and safety, the Pune police have ramped up enforcement measures on bars and rooftop restaurants within the city. Effective immediately, guidelines outlined in Section 144 will be strictly enforced, with Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar issuing a clear warning against any infractions.

Kumar emphasized the importance of adherence to designated operating hours, with establishments mandated to cease operations by 1:30 am and outdoor speakers permitted only until 10 pm. Violations of these regulations will be met with immediate and decisive action by law enforcement.

Furthermore, the sale of liquor outside permitted hours or without a valid license is strictly prohibited, with stringent age verification measures in place. Additionally, establishments must notify the police at least 15 days in advance of any events involving DJs, artists, or foreign entertainers.

In a bid to enhance security, the installation of CCTV cameras is now mandatory in all such establishments, along with designated smoking areas. Feedback from citizens will be considered during a 15-day review period before further decisions are made.

Security protocols have also been reinforced, with stringent criminal record checks mandated for bouncers. Hookah and shisha have been banned from these premises, with strict measures in place to prevent their use. The sale of tobacco products near educational institutions has also been prohibited to safeguard student well-being.

The police are committed to ensuring the safety and tranquility of the city, and any violations of these regulations will be met with appropriate legal action.
