Central Railway’s Pune division has been taking continuous action against unauthorised vendors. Just recently, under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Rajesh Kumar Verma and under the leadership of Priyanka Sharma, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, RPF Pune, and Anil Kumar Pathak, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Pune Division, a joint drive was conducted by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Commercial Department to take strict action against unauthorized hawkers and vendors in Pune Division. 

This operation was conducted as part of continuous enforcement during the month of May 2025 and in June month up to 10 June 2025 under Section 144 of the Indian Railways Act, which prohibits unauthorized selling of food and goods on railway premises.

During May 2025, the RPF registered a total of 706 cases and recovered fines amounting to ₹2,88,670, while in June month up to 10th June 2025, 282 cases were booked with a penalty recovery of ₹96,020. Similarly, the Commercial Department registered 195 cases during May 2025, collecting ₹39,250 in fines, and in June month up to 10th June 2025, an additional 131 cases were recorded with ₹38,600 recovered in penalties.

The Pune Division reiterates that it will continue its strict action against unauthorized vendors in the future to ensure safety and cleanliness at railway premises. Passengers are requested not to purchase any items from unauthorized sellers, as unauthorized vending on railway premises is a punishable offense under the law.
