Pune Resident’s Lost Documents Safely Returned by Honest Rickshaw Driver and Panchayat Office

PUNE: A heart-warming incident has emerged from Pune, showcasing the integrity of both a rickshaw driver and the Rickshaw Panchayat Office. A local resident of Pune inadvertently left behind crucial documents, including chequebooks, house share certificates, and GST and MVat licenses, in a rickshaw.

The forgetful moment occurred when S N Jivani took a rickshaw ride from Yerawada to Dhole Patil Road around 3 pm. The rickshaw driver, identified as Manikchand Chouhan, discovered the abandoned documents and acted with utmost honesty. Chouhan promptly delivered the forgotten belongings to the Rickshaw Panchayat Office located at Timber Market.

Jivani, after an exhaustive search and a visit to Yerawada Police Station, was on the verge of filing a formal complaint about the lost documents. Just before taking that step, he received a relieving call from the Rickshaw Panchayat Office. The office informed him that his valuable documents were securely in their possession and could be retrieved without any hassle.

Relieved and grateful, Jivani rushed to the Rickshaw Panchayat Office where he was pleasantly surprised to encounter Dr. Baba Adhav, the President of the Rickshaw Panchayat, in person.

The heartening conclusion to this incident saw Jivani reunited with his documents, a testament to the honesty and goodwill demonstrated by the Pune rickshaw driver and the collaborative efforts of the Rickshaw Panchayat Office. This incident not only highlights the positive character of individuals but also underscores the socially responsible and public assistance initiatives of the Pune Rickshaw driver’s union.
