Residents of Nivaan Meadows are grappling with serious issues caused by local troublemakers backed by a private builder. Recent incidents have seen people attempting to construct their plots being met with violence, as their contractors are beaten and prevented from working. The residents are coerced into obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the builder, which essentially translates to paying whatever amount demanded, instead of the builder fulfilling his obligations to form a society, hand over accounts, and depart.

Despite being a RERA-registered society, complaints filed with RERA have yielded slow progress through the legal system. The situation has escalated to the point where daily safety is compromised, akin to the lawlessness often associated with troubled regions. Local thugs, reportedly paid by the builder, exert control over essential services such as water, cable, internet, and electricity meters. This reign of extortion and intimidation leaves residents questioning their rights as citizens of India.

Many residents in Pune are encountering difficulties when seeking assistance from law enforcement. Despite making complaints, police officers are allegedly ignoring their concerns and refusing to file FIRs. Those who speak out about these issues are reportedly facing additional pressure, including threats to vacate their homes. As a result, residents are planning to take their grievances directly to the Pune Police Commissioner. They hope to garner media coverage and hold law enforcement and political representatives accountable for their actions.

Despite being a RERA-registered society, the builder continues to flout regulations without consequences. This situation underscores the urgent need for authorities to intervene and uphold the rights and safety of the residents.
