Pune, November 3, 2025: The Bavdhan–Pashan Road within the Pune Municipal Corporation limits, starting from Chandni Chowk and extending up to the Defence Department boundary, is designated as a 36-meter-wide Development Plan (DP) road. This important road serves residents of the western suburbs, and steps are being taken to ensure that it is widened to its full planned width.

To review the progress and implementation of this work, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Special) Omprakash Divte conducted an inspection today, accompanied by officials from various PMC departments. Present during the visit were Deputy Commissioner of Property Department Prashant ThombreDeputy Commissioner of Land Acquisition Nikhil MoreExecutive and Deputy Engineers from the Road and Construction DepartmentsDeputy Engineer of the Drainage Department, and Regional Officer of Kothrud-Bavdhan Division, among others.

A major portion of the road has already been acquired by the municipal corporation through FSI-TDR (Floor Space Index–Transferable Development Rights). The Additional Commissioner instructed the Road Department to complete the development of the entire 36-meter stretch on the acquired land.

He also noted that approximately 40 gunthas (about one acre) of land under the Forest Department falls within the proposed road widening area. The process of acquiring this land through the District Collector’s office is currently underway, and clear directives have been issued to secure possession by the end of December.

Additionally, the Commissioner directed that drainage and stormwater lines should be laid simultaneously during the road development to ensure proper infrastructure and prevent future issues.
