Pune : Road work begins on NIBM Undri road near Palace Orchards society
The long pending road work near Palace Orchards society in NIBM Undri Road has started.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Parveen Tambe, Founder Member, NIBM Undri Road Residents’ Forum, said “The L&T work is going on for the last 10 days which has crossed Princetown Royal. So, the road work is going on currently at the side of Palace Orchard. Also, restructuring & tarring work will be going on at the Y junction. Once the L&T work is done, they will level the roads (one side going towards Undri & other towards Mohammadwadi) & match the level with the road near Princetown Royal after which tarring work will begin.

The work has been sped up as we rigorously followed up. 10 days ago, we met with PMC officials where some extra machines were ordered for fast completion of L&T work. We are planning another meet with the PMC regarding the same. Levelling of road near Y junction is going on. Instructions have been given to complete the work fast.”
The work began after a halt of four months. The work delayed because the L n T work had stalled. With consistent follow up with the PMC officials the residents fot the work moving about ten days ago.
Gregory Pillai, Resident of Runwal Daffodils, NIBM Road, said “The work Y junction has started. The PMC has said that it will take them around 15 to 20 days to complete the work. However, it’s not only about Y junction. The residents have demanded the work of road from Bakers Point to Kad Nagar as this road, road of Punyadham Ashram etc are all in a bad state.”
In October 2023, PMC had assured that the work at NIBM Undri Road near Palace Orchard will be completed in the next 3 months
