In its jurisdiction, hotels, restaurants, bars, permit rooms, and hookah parlors are asked to “shut their establishments by 12.30 am,” according to a directive issued by the Pune Rural Police. According to the police, the order will come into effect on Thursday, March 7, and any outlets that disobey the guidelines will face consequences.

The order stipulates that indoor music performances must end by 12.30 am and outdoor events and performances by 10 pm, and that no food or alcohol will be served to patrons at the establishments after 12 am.

Additionally, the police have requested that establishments post signs on their property informing patrons that it is against the law to drive after consuming alcohol and assign a staff member to watch out for patrons who do not leave the premises by car.

Additionally, it has requested that the establishments adhere closely to the noise standards and guidelines for smoking and alcohol service.

In accordance with Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) section 144, the directive has been issued.

Previously, on March 5, the Pune City police issued an order under section 144 of the CrPC requesting that the city’s bars, eateries, pubs, and rooftop restaurants inform their patrons about the laws against “drunk and drive.”

The Pune City Police has issued an order requiring outdoor events and performances to end by 10 pm and indoor music performances at establishments under its jurisdiction to end by 1.30 am. The directive requests that all bars and permit rooms in the city “shut their establishments by 1.30 am” and strictly abide by the outer time limit of 1.30 am.
