Pune Schools to Remain Shut on July 26 Amid Heavy Rains
Heavy Rains Cause Flooding in Pune,schools in Pune City and District to Remain Closed on July 26
Pune has been experiencing continuous heavy rains for the past 24 hours. The situation has worsened with water being released from the dam, leading to flooding in various parts of the city.
To ensure the safety of students, the government has decided to close all schools in Pune and in the heavily affected talukas of the district on July 26, 2024.
Chandrakant Patil informed that a directive has been issued to close all schools in Pune city and the affected talukas, and the administration, along with education officers, should notify everyone accordingly. The decision aims to prevent any harm due to the severe weather conditions.

The Khadakwasla Dam, which supplies water to Pune, has started releasing water at the rate of 40,000 cusecs due to the rising water levels. The discharge is being carried out during the day to minimize inconvenience to the citizens. A warning has been issued to villages along the riverbanks to stay alert.
