Pune | April 9, 2025: A case has been registered at the Nanded City Police Station against multiple security personnel of the Nanded City Township after they allegedly assaulted a woman and her son during an altercation over a missing vehicle sticker.

According to the police complaint filed by 42-year-old Prerna Prafull Sonkawade, a homemaker residing within the township, the incident took place around 4:30 PM at the society’s main gate. The altercation began when her husband, Prafull Sonkawade (52), was stopped by the security staff for not having the required vehicle sticker.

The argument allegedly escalated, and when Prerna and her 22-year-old son, Omkar Sonkawade, intervened to resolve the issue, they were reportedly assaulted by a group of 8 to 10 security personnel. Among the accused are a female security guard in a blue shirt and pants, identified only as Ashwini, and a male guard in a blue safari suit, identified as “Nevarkar”. The full names and addresses of the accused are currently unknown.

Following the incident, the complainant sought medical treatment at Sassoon Hospital before approaching the police. Based on her statement, a case has been registered under sections 115(2), 352, 189(1)(2), 190, and 191(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

No weapons were used in the assault, and the complainant and her son sustained injuries. The incident is under investigation, and authorities are working to identify all involved.

The case is being investigated by Assistant Police Inspector Pravin Jadhav. Senior officials including ACP Ajay Parmar, Senior PI Atul Bhose, and other officers from Nanded City Police Station visited the crime scene between 6:40 PM and 9:10 PM on April 8.

Police have confirmed that CCTV footage from the scene is available and will be reviewed as part of the investigation. No arrests have been made so far, and the background of the accused is being verified.
