Pune witnessed a significant drop in its minimum temperature amidst partly cloudy skies on Monday, April 8. The temperature in Shivajinagar dipped below the normal mark, measuring 17.8 degrees Celsius, according to data from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

Meteorologists attribute this change to a decrease in humidity levels and cloud cover. SD Sanap, a senior meteorologist at IMD Pune, noted a drop in humidity from 56% on April 5 to 36% on April 8, contributing to the cooler weather.

Shilpa Apte, another senior meteorologist at IMD Pune, forecasts partly cloudy skies in the coming 48 hours with chances of light rainfall expected on April 11-12. Additionally, Marathwada and Vidarbha regions may experience thunderstorms and lightning between April 9-12.

The city has recently experienced a slight decrease in maximum temperatures. After a week of temperatures around 39 degrees Celsius in Shivajinagar, a small deduction to 38.5 degrees Celsius was observed on April 7th and 8th. Talegaon recorded the lowest maximum temperature at 35.3 degrees Celsius, while Lavale saw the highest at 40.8 degrees Celsius.

Overall, the state is expected to witness a gradual decrease in both minimum and maximum temperatures in the coming days.
