Pune : Shop owners from Mantri Estate Cooperative Society in Salisbury Park hold protest against PMC 

Pune: Small shop owners,tenants of shops had come together against a biased anti encroachment drive of PMC,and organised a dharna agitation on Monday, 15th January 2024.

This agitation organised to raise voice against biased action taken at Mantri Estate Co operative society, Salisbury park, where PMC pulled down construction of shops but not taken any action against illegal 8 flats constructed on the terrace of Mantri Estate Housing society.

Hasib Kalmani, Dr Payal Shah, Ashok Shirve and Hemraj Choudhary – all representative of commercial shop owners and tenants of shops,took a press conference to inform about the false action of PMC and to inform Dharna Agitation organised on same place on Monday, 15th January 2024.

Kalmani said, Anti Encroachment Drive is targeting poor Shop owners, tenants and protecting illegal construction like rooftop hotels, terrace flats, godown etc. A high level inquiry of the whole drive is needed and we are demanding the same.

He said they have formed a platform for shop owners, flat owners and tenants affected because of biased anti-encroachment drives, where notices are not served and no time given for owners. We will fight at all levels to get justice, he said.
