Pune: A speeding Kia car crashed into a parked two-wheeler used for milk delivery on NIBM Road, Kondhwa in the early hours of March 16.

The incident took place around 4:00 AM near Sunshree Suvarnayug Society when the Kia car (MH 12 TK 1463) hit a stationary Suzuki Burgman scooter (MH 12 VK 3338) and the driver fled without stopping.
The owner of the scooter, Sohel Shafik Shaikh (33), a resident of Classic Kuba Society, Kondhwa, filed a complaint at Kondhwa Police Station.
Based on his complaint, a case was registered under IPC Section 281 and relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.
During the probe conducted by Kondhwa police station, police detained the car’s driver, Kshitij Rakesh Mangla (30), a resident of Archana Paradise, Mohammadwadi. He claimed that he lost control while trying to avoid a pothole near a manhole, leading to the crash. Authorities are conducting further investigations into the matter. Further investigation is underway in the incident.
