Pune: Thieves Snatch Woman’s Gold and Cash Containing Handbag At Kad Nagar Chowk, Mohammadwadi
Pune, 17 June 2024: On June 13, around 9:20 PM, a 46-year-old woman had her handbag stolen by two thieves on a motorcycle at Kad Nagar Chowk, Mohammadwadi in Undri. The handbag, which was on the footrest of her two-wheeler, contained Rs 50,000 in cash, a mobile phone, and two gold rings, a total worth Rs 1,10,000.
The woman promptly reported the theft at the Kondhwa police station. According to the report, the thieves approached her on a motorcycle, grabbed the handbag, and sped away.
Sub-inspector Balaji Digole stated that the investigation is challenging due to the thieves’ fast-moving vehicle, covered faces, and an obscured number plate. CCTV footage from the entire road is being reviewed to identify when the thieves started following the victim.
The entire stretch of road from Kad Nagar To Corinthians Club is dark as despite the streetlight pole installation, the road is not illuminated. PMC has been delaying the work of functioning the streetlights.
