Pune, September 12: To mark the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, city MP and Union Minister of State for Cooperation and Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol has announced a series of grand celebrations in Pune, including Maharashtra’s first large-scale drone laser show.

On September 16, the eve of the Prime Minister’s birthday, the event “Jyotine Tejachi Aarti” will feature a spectacular 3D drone show with around 1,000 drones, illuminating the sky for 45 minutes. The show will showcase PM Modi’s achievements over 11 years in office, while also highlighting Pune’s social, cultural, and historical landmarks. Mohol said the display will present “a glimpse of the vision of a developed India” and will be visible within a 4-km radius.

“This is the first time such a drone show is being organised in Maharashtra, on the lines of the shows in Ayodhya and Varanasi,” Mohol said.

The celebrations are part of the nationwide ‘Seva Pakhwada’ (Fortnight of Service) beginning September 17. Alongside the drone show, an aid camp for the differently abled will distribute 1,750 assistive devices to more than 1,200 beneficiaries free of cost.

The evening will also feature a live concert by renowned singer and composer Avadhoot Gupte. In addition, 75,000 school students from Pune will send handwritten postcards with birthday wishes to PM Modi, which will be compiled and delivered to him.
