Pune Traffic Police Advisory For Ganeshotsav: 15 Roads To Remain Closed
Due to the large crowds expected during Ganeshotsav, the city’s traffic police have implemented road closures and alternate routes from 5 pm to night, between 11 and 18 September. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes to avoid delays. It is also the fifth day of the celebrations, many household Ganpati and sarvajanik pandals hold immersion processions today.
- Laxmi Road: The road from Hamjekhan Chowk to Tilak Chowk is closed. Drivers should take a right at Dulya Maruti Chowk, proceed directly to Daruwala Bridge via Dudhbhatti. Alternatively, from Hamjekhan Chowk, turn left onto Maharana Pratap Road, continue straight past Ghorpadi Peth Police Station, and head towards Shankar Sheth Road.
- Shivaji Road: The road from S. Go. Barwe to Jedhe Chowk is closed. Vehicles traveling from Shivajinagar to Swargate should use Go. Barve Chowk, J. M. Road, Tilak Chowk, Tilak Road, or Shastri Road. Those from Simla Chowk-Kamgar Putla Chowk-Shahir Amar Sheikh Chowk should use Nehru Road via Bolhai Chowk. From Kumbharves Chowk, take a right at Yojna Hotel, proceed through Devji Baba Chowk, Hamjekhan Chowk, Maharana Pratap Road, Ghorpadi Peth Police Station, Ghorpadi Peth Udyan, Jagade Ali, and reach Shankar Sheth Road.
- Bajirao Road: The road from Pooram Chowk to Appa Balwant Chowk is closed. Drivers should turn right from Tilak Chowk onto Kelkar Road to reach Appa Balwant Chowk.
- Jedhe Prasad Road/Subhanshah Road: The road from Parswanath Chowk (Naik Hospital) to Shastri Chowk and Subhanshah Dargah to Sonya Maruti Chowk is closed. Use Parswanath Chowk, turn left to Subhedar Talim Chowk, and continue straight on Shivaji Road to Shinde Ali.
- Kohinoor Chowk to Babajan Chowk: Road is closed. Alternate route: From Kohinoor Chowk, proceed via Bhagwan Mahaveer Chowk, turn left to Sarbatwala Chowk, and then to Babajan Chowk.
- Gawksab Masjid to Central Street Chowki: This road is also closed. Gawksab Masjid, Babajan Chowk, Sarbatwala Chowk, and Central Street Chowkimarg as alternate routes.
Motorists are urged to plan their travel accordingly to avoid congestion and delays.
