To ensure smooth traffic flow during the upcoming Diwali festival, the Pune City Traffic Police have announced diversions and parking arrangements. From October 21 to November 5, 2024, certain routes will be altered to accommodate the influx of shoppers.
Vehicles traveling from Shivaji nagar via Shivaji Road will be diverted through Sa. Go Barve Chowk, while those coming from Swargate to Shivaji nagar via Bajirao Road will take a left turn from Puram Chowk to Tilak Road. Additionally, traffic from Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk and from Futka Buruj to Jogeshwari Chowk will be closed, with alternative routes provided.
To alleviate congestion, vehicles heading to Mandai from Shanipar Chowk and Kumthekar Road will be redirected. Citizens shopping in areas like Bajirao Road, Shivaji Road, and Mandai are advised to park their vehicles at designated parking lots: Babu Genu Parking, Misal Parking, Hamalwada Parking, and Sane Parking.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Amol Zende, has issued these directives, excluding essential service vehicles like fire brigades, police vehicles, and ambulances. The changes aim to minimize disruptions and ensure a hassle-free Diwali shopping experience.
These traffic diversions and parking arrangements will be in effect from October 21 to November 5, 2024. Commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly and follow the designated alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.
