“The proposal has undergone a primary discussion and has been approved by the PMC. It will be implemented on an experimental/trial basis within the next two to three days.” – Rohidas Pawar.

Pune traffic police have proposed a solution to ease traffic congestion in the Hadapsar area of Solapur Road, primarily caused by private travel buses parked in the vegetable market, Gadital, Akashvani, and Magarpatta areas. After numerous complaints and demands, the police suggest renting premises from the PMPML administration in Shewalewadi to alleviate the congestion.

The proposal aims to permanently resolve the issue by reducing vehicle parking along the road, which is worsened by the bustling marketplace on Solapur Road. This solution is expected to improve traffic flow in the area.

This route is also used by a lot of private travel buses that go to areas like Solapur, which results in a large number of passengers. The traffic problem is made worse by the fact that these buses frequently stop on the road to pick up passengers. By 7 p.m., a lineup of cars begins, and the traffic jam stretches to Akashvani Chowk, where cars are halted on the flyover leading to traffic congestion, and it lasts well into the night.

Rohidas Pawar, the Deputy Commissioner of Pune Traffic Police told Pune Pulse, “The proposal has undergone a primary discussion and has been approved by the PMC. It will be implemented on an experimental / trial basis within the next two to three days.”
