Pune Traffic Police To Temporarily Close U-Turn Near Bhakti Plaza In Aundh
Pune, July 16, 2026: The Pune Traffic Police have announced the temporary closure of the U-turn near Bhakti Plaza in Aundh as part of a trial traffic management measure aimed at improving traffic flow and reducing congestion in the Chaturshringi Traffic Division.
The road opening would be closed as per the new decision to decongest the traffic bottleneck created near RCP Lane/Bhakti Plaza. The trial will be implemented under the powers granted by the Motor Vehicles Act and relevant government notifications.

Traffic Diversions During the Trial
- Vehicles coming from Rajiv Gandhi Bridge towards Bhakti Plaza will no longer be allowed to take the U-turn near the road puncture (road opening). Instead, motorists should continue approximately 50 metres ahead to Parihar Chowk, take a U-turn there, and proceed towards their destination.
- Vehicles travelling from Baner and Aundh towards Bhakti Plaza will also not be permitted to use the existing U-turn near the RCP office. They should continue about 60 metres ahead and either take a U-turn near the old DIGMT office or use the Parihar Chowk junction to reach their destination.
The Pune Traffic Police have appealed to citizens to cooperate with traffic personnel during the experimental closure and use the designated alternative routes.
Officials said the trial has been introduced to improve road safety and ensure smoother vehicular movement in the area.
