The Pune City Traffic Police have announced temporary traffic restrictions in the Katraj Chowk area due to the ongoing construction of a flyover. The restrictions, which will come into effect on December 3, aim to avoid traffic congestion and ensure smooth flow of vehicles.

According to a notification issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zende, the restrictions will be in place until further notice. The notification states that the access to Namud Road in Katraj Chowk will be closed due to the construction work.

The restrictions apply to heavy vehicles, including dumpers, trucks, mixers, and heavy motor vehicles, which will not be allowed to enter Katraj Chowk from various routes. The affected routes include:

  • – Vehicles coming from Satara through the old Katraj tunnel will not be allowed to enter Katraj Chowk.
  • – Vehicles coming from Mumbai via Warje will be closed at Navale Bridge.
  • – Vehicles coming from Solapur to Hadapsar Mantarwadi towards Katraj Chowk will be closed beyond Mantarwadi Chowk.

The notification also provides alternative routes for heavy vehicles to reach their destinations.

In addition to the restrictions on heavy vehicles, the notification also provides guidelines for ST buses and travel vehicles. ST buses and travel vehicles coming from Mumbai to Katraj Chowk via Warje will not be allowed to enter Katraj Chowk at Navale Bridge.

Citizens of Mangdewadi, Dattawadi, Handewadi, and Katraj areas are advised to use alternative routes to reach Swargate instead of Katraj Chowk.

The Pune City Traffic Police have appealed to citizens to cooperate with the traffic restrictions and follow the alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.
