A 26-year-old man, identified as Pujan Vishwajeet Adhav, lost his life in a fatal accident on March 4 in Hadapsar. The tragic event unfolded when an unidentified vehicle collided with Pujan’s motorcycle from behind, causing him to fall off the Magarpatta bridge.
Pujan, a resident of the Parvati area, was navigating the bridge in the early hours when the collision occurred. The impact was so severe that Pujan along with his motorcycle plunged from the overpass. His brother, Prathamesh Adhav (30), promptly lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at the Hadapsar police station on March 7, seeking justice for the untimely loss.
The Hadapsar police have taken swift action, registering a case against the yet-to-be-identified driver of the unknown vehicle under sections 279 for rash driving and 304 (a) for causing death by negligence of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Additionally, relevant sections of the Motor Vehicle Act have been applied.
Sub Inspector Kaviraj Patil stated, “We have initiated an investigation based on the victim’s family complaint. The accused driver is currently unidentified, and our efforts are ongoing to bring them to justice.”
As the authorities continue their probe, the community mourns the loss of a young life, emphasizing the need for road safety awareness and responsible driving.
