The Hadapsar Assembly Constituency, traditionally a stronghold for Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) , has seen alliance candidates claim victory on three occasions. However, voters in this constituency are known for not re-electing their representatives, making the upcoming election highly unpredictable. Factors such as shifting political allegiances, evolving caste dynamics, and an increasing number of non-local voters are expected to influence the election outcome.

Current Political Landscape:

Chetan Viththal Tupe (Patil) of the NCP (Ajit Pawar Faction) is the incumbent MLA for Hadapsar. However, the recent split between the Shiv Sena and the NCP, along with the realignment of alliances—Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi—will significantly impact the upcoming polls. Both Tupe, representing the NCP, and Pramod Bhangire of the Shiv Sena are strong contenders for the seat. Other potential candidates from Mahavikas Aghadi include Prashant Jagtap, Mahadev Babar, Yogesh Sasane, and Balasaheb Shivarkar.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s Pune City President Sainath Babar is contesting the assembly elections. His candidature remains strong due to his active presence in Kondhwa as well as other areas in Hadapsar Constituency. The voters of Hadapsar constituency have always chosen a candidate who was given only one chance to represent. It is interesting to see if the voters repeat the same model and gives an opportunity to a new face in this election too.
