Amitabh Gupta, Additional Director General of Police and Inspector General (Prisons and Correctional Services) asserted that the newly started computer lab and video conference room at Daulatrao Jadhav Jail Officers’ Training College in Yerawada will be useful for the trainees. Gupta was speaking during the inauguration of the lab and video conference room, which has been started with the social responsibility fund of Mukul Madhav Foundation under Finolex Industries Ltd.

On this occasion, Swati Sathe, West Division Deputy Inspector General (Prisons), Dr Jalinder Supekar, Prisons and Correctional Service Special Inspector General of Police, Sunil Dhamal, Yerawada Central Jail Superintendent, Nitin Vaichal, Daulatrao Jadhav Jail Officer Training College Principal, Anil Babi, Finolex Industries Managing Director and Mukul Madhav Foundation Managing Trustee were present.

Gupta said that officers and employees should take advantage of the latest facilities like computer labs and video conference rooms. Training should produce good officers, employees as well as trainers. Soon the training classes will start at this place. He said that there is an urgent need for the officers and employees to acquire practical knowledge, the latest technology and acquire good education.

2000 new posts have been created for Maharashtra Prisons Department and the recruitment process is going on for 255 posts. This will help to reduce the additional workload on the officers and employees by providing a large amount of trained manpower. Therefore, Gupta expressed the belief that the prison security system will be strengthened by overcoming the hurdles of the officers and employees.

Swati Sathe, West Division Deputy Inspector General (Prisons) said that employees should also pay attention to training and physical fitness by using the latest facilities.

Dr Jalinder Supekar, Prisons and Correctional Service Special Inspector General of Police said that officers and employees of the prison should undergo continuous training. He appealed to take advantage of facilities like e-learning, e-library, virtual classroom, updated computer lab etc.

Nitin Vaichal, Daulatrao Jadhav Jail Officer Training College Principal gave information about the training provided in the college and the facilities present there.
